Dear Airedale Terrier Friend,

my emotional reasons for breeding Airedales in particular sound like a love-song to my dogs.

My Airedales do their best to prove to me every day how much they love convivial family life. Their spontaneous joy at every meeting, whether after only a few moments or a longer time, their humility and touching adaptability, depending on their mood, never fail to impress me.

The Airedale is inordinately demonstrative in its devoted attachment, its tail as a barometer, and the position of the ears indicating all its moods. It knows no ill humour, although is extremely depressed following every small reprimand. When it has then worked off the emotional shock, it sees in people primarily a friend, and only comes to consider them as enemies after negative experiences. For our children, Airedales make robust playmates, who always accompany them when cycling or sledging, play football with them and romp around in the water. Grandma and Grandpa also feel themselves well protected when their gruff barking can be heard in the house.

Not without justification are Airedales classified as working dogs, although one cannot expect a young dog to recognise a potential villain without proper training. Instead therefore of long and pointless walks, one should rather exploit their joy in learning for the purposes of training as a guard-dog.

During longer trips, we will look after your Airedale in the bosom of its family in our kennels, and if you have problems with trimming, we will also be happy to help. Besides your complete attention, your Airedale needs to feel that it is a member of the family, lives with the family, and that you love him. I am always ready to help you with my experience and advice.
